Spring Term

This week, our year 3 children took part in a Rocks and Soils workshop at the Life Centre in Newcastle.  They became mini scientists investigating the differences in a range of natural rocks and also testing different types of soil for their absorption.  In the theatre , the children enjoyed watching a series of mini experiments, some which had 'explosive' outcomes.  Finally, our children took part in the ice skating activity.  We had so much fun and learned many new facts.  Our children behaved impeccably and the staff at the Life Centre commented on this.

This experience links to:

Article 28 - education must develop every child's personality talents and abilities to the full.

Article 31 - every child has the right to relax, play and join in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.

Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Our Year 3 teachers are Miss Emery (Class 7), Mrs Beattie (Class 8

and Mrs Hardy is our Teaching Assistant.

Below are the end of year expectations for Year 3. If you would like to help your child further then any extra help at home is welcomed, even if it is just to help them learn their 3, 4 and 8 times table.

Topics we will be covering in the Autumn Term include The Stone Age, Volcanoes and Rocks and Soils.  Our children will learn some fascinating facts about what life was like many years ago!

Homework Information

Children will receive a piece of maths and English homework every Thursday, which should be completed by the following Tuesday.
